About The Hadley Point System

Measure Training Load - Maximize Performance

The Hadley Point System (HPS) was created to help runners and coaches better understand, quantify, and manage training load in distance running training

At its core, the HPS combines workout intensity and duration into a single unified stress score that allows meaningful comparison across different types of training. Whether evaluating an easy run, a long run, threshold intervals, hill repetitions, or an entire training week, the HPS provides one number that reflects the total physiological training load placed on the body.

What Runners Are Saying

Kevin H -

"Coach Hadley took me from running a 4:30 marathon to 2:53, which allowed me to fulfill my lifelong dream of running the Boston Marathon. He created a training plan the kept me injury free while getting me in the best shape of my life.  I highly recommend him to anyone who is interested in finding out how good they can be.".

Justin A -

"I went from a 5+ hour marathon in 2017 to a 3:25 in 2018.  From there coach helped me completely rewrite my record book in 2019, doing things that I never could have possibly imagined .... and nabbed that elusive BQ with my marathon PR of 3:04:12..... Coach Hadley absolutely belongs on the Mount Rushmore of running coaches."

Tia S -

"Coach Mark Hadley has been my coach for many years! Under his guidance I have set PR's in every distance from the mile through the marathon. His training has helped me qualify for Boston, set state running records, and most recently qualify for the World Age Group Marathon Championships. I'm so thankful for his influence in my running this past decade. If I could have any running coach I would pick Coach Hadley every time!"

Claudio S -

"I chose coach Hadley because I wanted someone that could help me improve as a masters runner. With his guidance not only has he helped me improve but I have been running some of my fastest times at every distance from the 5K to the marathon well into my 50's, including running my fastest marathon at under 2:50 as a 53 year old. And more importantly avoiding any injuries.

Hiring coach Hadley ....has been one of the best decisions I have made regarding training."
